Abstract
The use of Model based Predictive Control (MPC) based on Mixed Logic and Dynamic (MLD) dynamic equation is introduced as a means to control flotation cells. The paper shows how a graphic interface helps the user to define the specific strategy without having to go into the MPC/MLD details. The use of this control has improved the yield in a well operated and maintained flotation plant. The paper also presents first results when using Near Infra Red (NIR) spectroscopy in On Line Analysis to determine the concentration of the fractions in the slurry for the cell feed.
