Abstract
This paper presents an optimal operation scheme for drinking water distribution systems under full range of operating scenarios. Control strategies are formulated based on piecewise affine control model of the network system. An optimized system operation is achieved by soft switching between different control strategies each of which fits for a different operating scenario. Comparisons between control strategy soft switching and hard switching are illustrated and feasibility of the proposed switched control strategies is verified by computer simulation of a benchmark DWDS.
