Abstract
Application of Linear H∞ identification method for identification of a synchronous generator is investigated in this paper. H∞ identification method is used to derive a robust model despite noise and system uncertainties. Such models are useful for robust control design in a predictive structure. The proposed identification method is applied on a seventh order model of a synchronous generator with saturation effect and is also tested on a physical machine. The field voltage is considered as the input and the active output power and the terminal voltage are considered as the outputs of the synchronous generator. Simulation and experimental results show good accuracy of the identified model.
