Abstract
This approach depends on installing baffle posts on the top of the upstream side and the offshore long side of the sedimentation basin of the intake structure. An existing physical model of undistorted scale 1:38 was utilized to reduce the vortex activity using baffle posts. The model shows that baffle posts are effective in eliminating the vortex activity and hence improving the approach flow at the intake structure.
