Abstract
The measurement of the relative position of a dam point is an important issue for the observation of its state. The goal of this paper is to present a measurement system of the relative position, based on the trilateration method. The distances are measured with laser telemeters of high precision, which are connected to a RS-485 net or directly to a data base with SIEMENS programmable logic controller. A Kalman filter has been used in the case of each measurement for ensuring a good precision. The system is part of a developed contract by IPA Cluj – Napoca.
