This paper treats a consulting expert system, working as “operator adviser” in the last stage of the melt. The expert system is intended for determination of heating electric power and melting time for reaching to needed melt temperature. The system is realized at 10t coreless induction furnace for counter-pressure steel casting. The evaluation of the minimal needed power and current heat losses is performed by multiple-criterion hierarchical structure with six input parameters for appearance and action with slag cover, quantity and type of alloying elements and alloying time. The knowledge base of the expert system is formalized by fuzzy sets methods and the inference engine realizes pessimistic variant of evaluation on purpose to melt overheating prevention, melting time minimization, energy saving, refractory materials and crucible lifetime extension and production quality guaranteeing.
