Abstract

The paper deals with CFD based analysis of thermal comfort in a ventilated room as a background for adequate monitoring and control. The control of indoor climate requires detailed knowledge of the physical process under control. Detailed knowledge of the indoor climate can only be achieved through a numerical modeling of the airflow. The numerical modeling can give insight into the process and may allow different control strategies to be simulated and assessed in advance. An office room was numerically modeled and the thermal comfort of occupants was assessed for two cases with respect to the location of the air supply device.
