Abstract
Production and refining of biofuels is a current research topic. This paper deals with an integrated pyrolysis oil production process, where the fast pyrolysis process is integrated with a circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boiler. The structure and the operation of the novel integrated process are discussed. This paper presents a dynamic simulation model of a fluidized bed fast pyrolysis process, which is integrated with the CFB boiler. Modelling of the pyrolysis process is based on the first principal models of heat and mass transfer and experimental results about reaction kinetics. Simulation results give a clear conception of fast pyrolysis process and reveal the dynamic interactions of pyrolysis process and CFB boiler.
