Abstract
Transparent plywood (TPW) is obtained by laminated veneers with tunable orientations, resulting in significant improvement of mechanical and optical properties. A UV sensitive luminescent TPW is demonstrated by incorporation of TPW with CdSe/ZnS quantum dots (QD). This material may broaden wood nanotechnology for applications in building materials, optical and photonic devices.198
