Abstract

The “GNC for the PEGASE mission” R&T studies led by Astrium Satellites for CNES in 2005/2006 focused on the system aspects of the Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) functional design for the PEGASE mission. The main trade-offs for the GNC concepts were first identified and a review of Formation Flying actuators and sensors for this interferometric mission performed. Three baseline architectures were selected for detailed analyses. Performance of the GNC was characterized through dedicated designs and development of functional simulators. Feasibility of the proposed concept was demonstrated by simulation and requirements for the GNC system aspect derived.
