Abstract
The paper describes a model based approach to provide an integrated structural coupling filter for a military aircraft. It utilises a steady-state version of the well-known Kalman filter, designed using a model containing rigid and flexible modes relevant to longitudinal dynamics, and provides an important alternative to the existing approach using a number of notch filters in the sensor and actuator paths.
