Abstract
Design of quasicrystal-based alloy with three phases; λ-Al13Fe4, i-phase, and Ï-AlCu for improved wear resistance. (a) quasicrystal-based alloy shows ductile behavior due to dominant Ï-AlCu phase, (b) quasicrystal-based alloy shows harder mechanical property due to decreasing Ï-AlCu phase and increasing i-phase than the alloy at “A state”, (c) quasicrystal-based alloy shows a favorable tribological performance because of dominant i-phase.223
