Abstract
⺠Picture frame test is improved to obtain more accurate and reliable results. ⺠A new test apparatus is designed to characterize the inter-ply shear property. ⺠The mechanism of large in-plane shear behavior for 3D preform is investigated. ⺠The failure mode and deformation mechanism of inter-ply shear are analyzed.
