Abstract
⺠A distinctive asymmetrical hardness profile across the dissimilar joint is observed. ⺠While HAZ-softening takes place on the Ti17 side, it is absent on the Ti-6Al-4V side. ⺠Monotonic and cyclic yield strengths of joints lie in-between those of base metals. ⺠Dissimilar joints exhibit cyclic stabilization at strain amplitudes up to 0.6%. ⺠Base metals and joints show symmetrical hysteresis loops and equivalent fatigue life.
