Abstract
In this work we study the optical properties of metals applying the Caputo fractional derivative. We obtain the generalization of the complex electric conductivity and the complex dielectric function. These functions depend on frequency and on the order of the fractional differential equation 0<γâ¤1. In this way, we have an additional degree of freedom that gives the possibility to describe scenarios with new information about the system, as it can be seen from the graphs obtained using the MatLab software.
