Abstract
Wireless mesh network (WMN) is mainly used to obtain Internet access, so most of the traffic converges to the gateways. Due to the nature characteristic of WMN traffic model, the gateways unavoidably become the bottleneck of the whole network. An anycast-based gateway load balance method is proposed in this paper. All the gateway nodes are abstracted as an anycast group and the clients can adaptively select the best gateway node for Internet access through effective anycast mechanism. Simulation results show that the algorithm can effectively achieve the goal of load balance among gateways.
