Abstract
In this article, we have discussed the analytical solution to the higher order nonlinear Schrödinger equation representing the propagation of short light pulses in the monomode optical fibers. The so-called bright, dark and singular solutions are founded with solitary wave ansatz method. Moreover, the (1/Gâ²)-expansion and the modified simple equation methods are also applied to extract some new traveling wave solutions.
