Coverage is one of fundamental problems in wireless sensor networks (WSN). Existing studies on this topic focus on two-dimension ideal plane coverage. However these simplified two-dimensional perception model can not characterize the actual fact accurately. A three-dimension perception model and a coverage-enhancing algorithm for wireless multimedia sensor network have been proposed in this article. Where tilt angle and deviate angle can be adjust to change nodes' sensing direction, also particle swarm optimization is used to eliminate sensation overlap area and blind spots, thus ultimate coverage performance of the wireless sensor network can be enhanced. Computer simulations have evaluated an excellent performance of the proposed algorithms.
