Abstract
Domain name system (DNS) root servers are one of the most critical infrastructures on the Internet. In order to improve the international DNS root services, this paper makes a study on the current development situation of the international root servers and analyzes the reasons why the quantity of root DNS servers cannot be expanded. Based on this, it discusses the technical approaches to solving such issue, figuring out a method for calculating the scalable quantity of the root DNS servers, quantitatively analyzing the scalable quantity of root servers in various scenarios and finally constructs a deployment model for their future expansion.
