Abstract
Based on SSLB500 continuous sheathing machine, by four-channel continuous sheathing process, the continuous extrusion process of ø178Ã4 mm cable aluminum sheath were numerically simulated. The velocity, temperature and stress fields were observed under extrusion wheel speed of 7 RPM, results show that the distributions of velocity and temperature field are axial symmetry, and the velocity and temperature on the profile at the outlet of the die are uniform. The experiment of four-channel continuous sheathing of ø178Ã4 mm cable aluminum sheath were conducted and the product properties were tested, the results show that the large diameter cable aluminum sheath can be made by four-channel process, and the roundness reaches 98.96%, the concentricity reaches 90%; The bonding strength of the weld zone is 63.4 MPa and the elongation is 37.5%.
