Abstract
This paper focuses on the estimation of the key variables of bioprocesses when the models are characterized by bounded uncertainties. We developed for this class of process simultaneously two types of interval estimators based on different principles both providing a guaranteed estimate of the system state variables. Assuming that the initial state belongs to a known and large interval, we run simultaneously the estimators and then we take the inner best envelope of estimation. The method is applied to a real biotechnological process used for wastewater treatment (anaerobic digestion).
