Abstract
Due to more competitive market conditions, organizations are urged to evaluate the impacts of knowledge management (KM) initiatives more precisely. As existing measurement approaches solve the problem only partially, this article develops a performance measurement framework for a KM initiative. Given that the whole point of KM is to improve the performance of the organization and to help it to achieve its objectives, the best and most logical approach is tie-in measurement of KM with the organization's overall performance measurement systems. Therefore the purpose of the presented article is to build a comprehensive and applicable measurement framework of KM initiatives within a holistic approach.
