Abstract
Process control in control rooms is currently in a state of technological flux driven by recent developments in information technology. The continual integration of new control devices carries with it the risk of overburdening the human operators, with a major source of danger here being information input overload. This article addresses this phenomenon and presents possible micro-scenarios that can be the foundation for subsequent user interface requirement specifications and concepts.
