Abstract
Temperature evolution in human skin samples exposed to a laser irradiation is investigated in this communication. A 2 dimensional axis symmetric multi-layered model is presented and transient temperature is numerically estimated according to a finite elements method. A sensitivity analysis using reduced sensitivity functions has been performed in order to find out the most influent model input parameters and a specific experimental bench was set up in order to identify some of the crucial parameters: the volumetric heat capacities of each of the skin layers. This characterization device, developed also for in vivo measurements, is presented and results are commented.
