Abstract
An ultrasonic probe is positioned on top of the abdominal aorta of a rat. Pressure catheter is used to monitor blood pressure level and phenylephrine injection is used to increase it. Shear wave propagation is induced and tracked along the abdominal aorta at different moments of the cardiac cycle and for different levels of blood pressure. A non-linear relationship is found when shear wave speed is displayed against blood pressure. Two successive linear relationships are found that can be explained by the elastin-collagen model.
