Abstract
Biocompatible gadofullerenol and [70] fullerenol nanoparticles with excellent capacity of scavenging free radicals were used as the inhalants for the therapy of pulmonary fibrosis. Both of them effectively attenuated BLM-induced acute lung injury, manifested in the improvement of histopathology and collagen accumulation. The examination of oxidative stress parameters and TGF-β1 expression likely showed the modulation of fullerenols towards the ROS-mediated inflammation stage. And gadofullerenol exhibited a higher performance than [70] fullerenol due to the larger quantity of the residual conjugated double bonds.403
