Abstract
In this paper, the different steps required for model validation as applied to a wastewater treatment plant are discussed. A mathematical model very useful to implement the automation, the methodology to determine kinetic parameters and the required information for the most important process variables are presented. Finally, how to validate this model is explained, followed by the relevant conclusions.
