LEARNING FIELDBUS TECHNOLOGY USING OPEN AND FLEXIBLE EDUCATIONAL EQUIPMENT

This paper describes a training system developed to study Profibus and Interbus Fieldbus technology, used for active learning of industrial communications, automation, and computer engineering at university level. All the different parts of the equipment are accessible because it has been designed using an open and flexible architecture. A pilot experience shows that the use of this flexible equipment in an active-learning environment has improved working group abilities in a realistic automation environment
