Abstract
► I compare information processing across self-relevant and self-irrelevant contexts. ► Updating is on average pessimistic in the self-relevant updating task. ► When highly self-confident, subjects process information in a self-serving way. ► Biases are more balanced in direction in the self-irrelevant context. ► Biases are smaller in magnitude in the self-irrelevant context.
