Abstract
This study presented the results of a content validity conducted on the French version of the Impact of Event Scale-Revised (IES-R). A panel of three judges proceeded to the evaluation of the items of the IES-R taking into account that it would be completed by an elderly population. The panel evaluated each item's clarity and theoretical pertinence and classified them according to the diagnostic symptoms of the post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) of the DSM-5. Results showed that items of the IES-R are quite clear and pertinent theoretically speaking. Regarding the classification of the items describing the criteria for the diagnostic of PTSD, the experts concluded that many items were confusing. Improvement recommendations are presented.
