Abstract

This paper describes the model constitution and drive circuit design of high-power laser diode (LD), which works in constant current mode, constant power mode and constant voltage mode, based on the electrical characteristics of high power LD. By model constitution and analysis, the relations between the control voltage and the output current are set up, respectively. After an analysis of factors affecting the stability of output current, safety circuits are provided to protect the use of LD.
