Abstract
Violence suffered by women has important consequences in health and is a pattern of behavior expressed, among others, through the satisfaction of the couple or the type of love in the relationship. Thus, the objectives of the study are to analyze the relationship between violence, love attitudes, relationship satisfaction and health and to study the mediating role of loving attitudes in the relationship between violence and perceived health in women. The sample consisted of 250 women residing in the Basque Country. The mean age was 58.66 years (SD = 10.46). The results showed that general health shows a positive relationship with emotional and cognitive negotiation, and a negative relationship with severe psychological abuse and with Ludus and Storge's loving attitudes. Marital satisfaction was positively related to emotional negotiation and the Ludus love style and negatively related with Eros and Agape. Psychological abuse has been negatively related to the physical role and emotional role. The attitudes of love showed a mediating role in the relationship between abuse, marital satisfaction and women's health.
