► Mirror Exposure is superior to non directive treatment for body image disturbance. ► Mirror Exposure results in secondary improvements in eating disorder symptoms. ► Social comparison was a negative predictor of treatment response. ► Teasing and greater thin-ideal internalization predicted greater treatment response. ► Participants' perception of homework improved in mirror exposure therapy.
