Abstract
This paper reviews the development of quality management and competitive advantage, and explores the notion of strategic status of quality as a source of sustained competitive advantage. In addition, the paper presents a number of suggestions to the Chinese telecommunications industry on the development of quality competence in order to sustain, an advantage over foreign competitors.
