Abstract
All neutral materials experience forces and torques when subjected to high electric field. These interactions can be utilized in several mechanisms from electrostatic spraying to electrospinning. It also provides innovative solutions for preparing novel smart materials which can adaptively change their physical properties in external electric field. The ability of electroactive polymers to undergo a quick controllable change of shape can be used to create an artificially designed system possessing sensor- and actuator functions internally in the material.
