Abstract
The proportion of three-year-old children who stutter and fluency status 6 months later are reported for a large cohort of Japanese children in Hokkaido. Language skills at 1;6âyear may potentially be a factor in natural recovery or persistence; because of limitations in our study design, this assumption requires additional study. This is the first preliminary study to determine the proportion of three-year-old children who stutter in a Japanese community.
