Smart Sensors Systems Design: New curricula based on Marie Curie Chairs Excellence (EXC) project’s results

This paper describes the successful integration of the Marie Curie Chairs (EXC) project-based course on ‘Smart Sensors Systems Design’ into the current ‘Sensors and Signal Conditioning’ curricula for graduate and postgraduate students taught in the Department of Electronic Engineering (DEE) of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC). The course is closely linked to the new research results obtained during the SMARTSES project in this emerging field. The course’s main objectives, contents, teaching method, laboratory activities and assessment criteria are discussed.
