Abstract

Herein, supercapacitance properties of MnO2 thin films deposited on graphite substrates using pneumatic spray (PS) method have been presented. Using such cheaper and simple techniques for producing manganese oxide for such applications (supercapacitance) is seldom reported in previous available scientific researches. The supercapacitive properties of MnO2 films based electrodes have been studied in aqueous Na2SO4 electrolyte solution. The structural, morphological and supercapacitive properties of MnO2 films have been investigated. The cyclic voltammetry demonstrates that the electrodes have excellent electrochemical reversibility and good electrochemical stability. The maximum supercapacitance obtained is 530 F g−1 in a potential window of 0–1.2 V at a scan rate of 10 mV s−1. The specific capacitance decreases with increasing of scan rate.
