Abstract
This paper presents a new method for sample point position measurement in the bit interval of Controller area network (CAN) nodes. The position of sample point is an important parameter of CAN network node configuration influencing the bit error rate and consequently frame error rate within the whole system. The functionality of the proposed method was verified by using a unique measuring device emulating real conditions in the harsh automotive environment. The gained results along with validation procedure are further described.
