Abstract
► A rubber hand illusion was present when visual information came only from a mirror. ► Mirror self-recognition was sufficient without a first-person perspective. ► Seeing ourselves in a mirror is different from seeing another person/mannequin. ► Stimuli in a mirror activate the same response as stimuli seen in peripersonal space.
