Abstract
⺠Change Blindness Blindness is usually attributed to folk beliefs about perception. ⺠Alternative sources of overconfidence in change detection tasks are explored. ⺠Retrospective confidence in a change detection trial is locally influenced by a search time heuristic. ⺠It is contextually influenced by performance feedback. ⺠There is no interaction between these factors.
