Abstract
⺠Face recognition was tested following happy-, sad-, and neutral-mood induction. ⺠Sad participants were more accurate than happy and sad participants. ⺠Sad participants gave more remember responses. ⺠These results were only obtained under incidental learning conditions. ⺠Mood affects the amount of elaborative processing employed.
