Abstract
⺠In utero exposure to cigarette smoke may have an adverse effect on infant health. ⺠Gestational smoking may also adversely influence brain development in children. ⺠We found that exposure to gestational tobacco forecasts child cognitive control. ⺠Analyses took into account potentially confounding child and family factors. ⺠Preventing gestational smoking may help reduce behavioral problems in children.
