Abstract
► In utero exposure to cigarette smoke may have an adverse effect on infant health. ► Gestational smoking may also adversely influence brain development in children. ► We found that exposure to gestational tobacco forecasts child cognitive control. ► Analyses took into account potentially confounding child and family factors. ► Preventing gestational smoking may help reduce behavioral problems in children.
