Abstract
► Blunted stress reactions have been associated with motivational dysregulation. ► Forced expiratory volume is a motivationally dependent measure of lung function. ► Low forced expiratory volume relates to blunted cardiac reactivity. ► Results survived adjustment for confounders including stress task performance. ► This supports the idea that blunted reactivity reflects motivational dysregulation.
