Abstract
► Innate and implicit predictions were tapped in two very different ERP paradigms. ► In one, ERPs were suppressed to sensations resulting from self-generated actions. ► In the other, ERPs were enhanced when implicit predictions of change failed. ► ERP effects in both situations were abnormal in schizophrenia. ► In schizophrenia, expectations formed innately and implicitly were abnormal.
