Abstract
⺠Innate and implicit predictions were tapped in two very different ERP paradigms. ⺠In one, ERPs were suppressed to sensations resulting from self-generated actions. ⺠In the other, ERPs were enhanced when implicit predictions of change failed. ⺠ERP effects in both situations were abnormal in schizophrenia. ⺠In schizophrenia, expectations formed innately and implicitly were abnormal.
