Abstract
⺠We review results indicating difficulties in generating and using prediction in ASD. ⺠ASD individuals manifest unusual processing of unpredictable events. ⺠This may lead to difficulties in perception and flexible control. ⺠Weakness of prediction may prevent adaptation to unpredictable socio-emotional contexts. ⺠This view may help building specific clinical and educational intervention programmes.
