Abstract
- Represented speech can give auto/biographical information in early moderate dementia.
- It provides information about the speaker's repertoire of identities.
- Such information may not be true, but is presented as true by the speakers.
- Such represented speech is almost always direct represented speech.
- As a compensatory strategy, represented speech in dementia discourse helps to maintain relationships through conversation.
