Abstract
⺠We tested the effects of brief stress given 30 min before learning on 24-h memory. ⺠Stress had no significant effect on short-term memory. ⺠Cortisol Responders exhibited impaired recognition of neutral words. ⺠Male cortisol Responders exhibited impaired 24-h recall and recognition. ⺠Female cortisol Non-Responders exhibited impaired 24-h recognition.
