Abstract
⺠Neutral faces were encoded with neutral or emotional contextual cues. ⺠Contextual cues consisted of bodily expressions or background scenes. ⺠Face recognition memory was lower for faces encoded with emotional context. ⺠This effect applies for positive and negative contextual emotion cues.
