Abstract
⺠In the medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC), long-term potentiation (LTP) can be induced. ⺠LTP enhances the demethylation status of reelin and bdnf genes in the mPFC. ⺠LTP also enhances the histone acetylation status of reelin and bdnf genes in the mPFC. ⺠5-Azacytidine (DNA methyltransferase inhibitor) disrupts LTP and trace fear memory. ⺠Sodium butyrate (histone deacetylases inhibitor) enhances LTP and trace fear memory.
